Unique Cosmic BlackHoles (Part-1)

Universe is a mysterious place with both beautiful and monstrous cosmic entities. One of the terrific entities is the blackhole. An enigmatic object where not even the light can escape its gravitational pull. As similar their properties are anywhere in this universe, their characteristics do defer. From birth to death, everything that a blackhole does is deadly. It is beautiful to see from afar, but horrific to live through it.

The universe is filled with surprises and unique celestial objects. Following is the list of few unique black holes among the endless variants of the space.

Highest Kick (Recoil) Velocity from a black hole collision:

GW200129

Black hole mergers can reach up to a kick velocity of 5000 km/s that results in the remnant black hole being ejected from its host galaxy. A black hole merger GW200129_065458, a binary merger was calculated to have a large kick velocity of ~1542(+747/-1098) km/s at 90% credibility. โ€œGW200129 is a gravitational wave signal observed by the detectors of LIGO and Virgo, emitting from two black holes.โ€ By using surrogate models, they visualized the evolution of the black hole system. The following video demonstrates the orbital hangup-effect. It visualizes the alignment of the blackhole spins with orbital angular momentum. In the anti-aligned system, the system loses more energy to gravitational waves resulting in smaller mass of the final system.

Black holes donโ€™t just absorb things up, when it is constantly fed, the gases around the singularity heat up resulting in emission of jets from the black holes. It can be Gamma Rays or it can also be plasma bursts. Located at a distance of 8000 light years from earth, in the constellation of Cygnus, V404 Cygni, a micro quasar is found shooting bullets of plasma into space.  These repeated bright flashes that were occurring multiple times within an hour were recorded in the year 2015 at ESAโ€™s INTEGRAL Gamma-ray observatory. It was found that the flashes consist ofโ€ electrons, and their antimatter counterparts and positronsโ€. Black hole jets are known to shoot out straight perpendicular to the accretion disk. V404 Cygni was found to have wavey pattern during the emission of the plasma. The jets were being shot in all the directions in the timescale of less than an hour. It is estimated that the inner part of the accretion disk is on a tilt

Oldest Known Black Hole:

Just after 570 million years after the big bang, with a mass of over 10 million times that of our sun, at the center of the EGSY8p7 located in the constellation of Boรถtes, at a distance of 13.2 billion light years, researches have found the oldest ever known black hole, CEERS_1019 (as of 2023). It was found during the Cosmic Evolution Early Release Science (CEERS) survey. As per the observations, the black hole is actively growing by consuming matter around its surroundings. It was discovered by astrophysicist Rebeca Larson of the University of Texas. It was also observed that, there was a broad emission feature associated with the active galactic nucleus. This is surprising, as a galaxy that old should either be emitting AGN light or star formation light but not both. It is believed that CEERS_1019 was formed from the collapse of the huge stars during the early stage of universe.
